If travelling from the north, including Grantham, Newark, Doncaster or York, follow the A1 southbound towards Stamford and take one of the signposted exits for the town. The A1 is Stamford's principal north-south road connection.

From Leicester and the West

Arriving in Stamford

Once you reach Stamford, follow signs for the town centre and public car parks. As Stamford is a historic town with narrow streets and a pedestrianised central shopping area, parking outside the immediate centre and exploring on foot is often the easiest option.

Long-stay parking is available close to the town centre, including at Cattlemarket near Stamford railway station and Wharf Road to the east of the centre.

For satellite navigation, the central Stamford postcode area is PE9.
