Stamford is located on the south border of Lincolnshire, just 14 miles from the city of Peterborough and 90 miles north of London. It is just a 20-minute drive from the pretty market town of Bourne and close to the towns of Market Deeping, Oakham, Corby and Grantham, all of which are within a 30-minute drive of the town.

Stamford is conveniently located just off the A1, making it easy to reach by road from London, Peterborough, Cambridge, Leicester, Nottingham and many other parts of the UK. The A1 bypasses the western side of Stamford, with several junctions providing access into the town.
